This installation occupies the small control booth area above the Perception Lab gallery. From in the main body of the Perception Lab you look up to see a grainy projected video with a frantically jittering blue ball and black text. The red lighting inside the installation illuminates the rear projection screen and spills from the stairs leading up into the space. As the viewer enters the space, they enter the view of the camera, which is the source for the projected video, and trigger the start of sounds that fill the space. The viewer's position is dictated by the placement of a rope stretched across the middle of the space. Because of their position they soon discover that their movement, captured by the camera, is affecting the nature of the sounds in the space. As the viewer investigates how the sounds can be manipulated and controlled through their movements, their actions become a performance in shadow and in the rear projection video for others in the main gallery space.
