UNTITLED (propellers)

Thin copper clad rods hanging from the ceiling connect motorized propellers at the bottom. At the top of the rods a cluster of electric components and a small solar panel hint as to the potential of this cluster of elements suspended in the front window alcove of a gallery.

As the light energy of the day falls upon the solar panels, each of the individual pieces in the cluster begins charging.  Once enough energy is stored it is released into the motor, causing the propeller to spin briefly but energetically.  Each propeller charges and recharges on an individual cycle, which is dictated by the amount of light energy in the room and the variances of placement.  As the light entering the space increases the installation becomes more active.  Each brief spin drawing attention to the place of the individual element in the cluster and leaving a slowly swaying shaft as the cycle begins again.
